Q: What is a “thermo-break”
frame?
A: A thermo-break frame has a strip of
plastic embedded inside to dampen the amount of heat or cold that is
transferred through the aluminum to the inside of your home.
Q: How do I determine
if one of your standard sized skylights will fit on my existing curb?
A: You need to measure the outside dimension
of your existing curb and contact us with
those dimensions. Please use caution while you are on the roof, and
seek help if you are uncomfortable with the measuring process. Our sales
staff will be able to determine what size is right for you.
Q: Are your skylights
hail-proof?
A: Unfortunately, nothing is truly “hail-proof”,
as we have seen hail beat the galvanization off of metal buildings in
this part of the country. If your home or business is subjected to frequent
hail, we suggest that you have us manufacture your skylight with a 1/4”
thick outer dome. We have never replaced a 1/4” dome because it
was broken by hail.
Q: My skylight leaks.
Will replacing it with your product solve the problem?
A: If your existing skylight is damaged
or defective, yes. However, a high percentage of skylight leaks are
the result of a problem with the curb or flashing system around the
skylight, not the skylight itself. In this case, our skylight would
not eliminate your leak.
